mom and dad were here!

it is startling. the growth. i can't feel it per say, and then i look at pictures and realize i actually have gotten bigger. and then i think i still have a month-ish to go! cripes. i am trying to give you a variety of angles since you all don't see me every day and i know pics can be deceiving. plus, i try not to post the ridiculously hideous pictures.

my feet and ankles are still swollen on and off. the sad thing is: it goes down, but it never entirely goes away. i MISS my ankle bones. i have been assured they will return immediately following delivery and that shit better not be a lie. this is way more annoying than contractions, crap skin, and the infrequent bloody noses!

momma and poppa horan (grandma and grandpa?! HAHA!) were here in THE ROCK this weekend to enjoy the fabulous arkansas weather. er.

we enjoyed just hanging out. watching big brown's unsuccessful run for the triple crown and spending some time in the baby's room. they are almost grandparents to an outside baby.

what do we think: grandma linda, grandpa mike? what do you call your grandparents? karl's already have a plethora (10) of grandchildren so they are solidly GiGi and Paw-Paw. Just plain old grandma and grandpa is all we ever used in my family. Works for me. Maybe we will just let nora nate decide.

picture of karl just because he rarely gets blog play anymore. well, other than the inside baby that is half of him. ha.

LOL! I hadn't thought of that, because I always called both set of grandparents grandma and grandpa. The my step-mom asked, and I told her to pick what she wanted, so she is Grams and I added gramps for my dad's. Everyone else is Grandma and Grandpa even though Kevin's mom wants Grams, but that doesn't work for me... lots of reasons. anyway... there you have it! :)

Hi There! Love keeping up with your pregoness on the blog. I am sooooo excited for both of you. I am "Nana" and Alan is Gran'pa. I think Connor was asking for a banana once while at the table with me and he said nana and reached out so I knew he was reaching for me! Check out my blog and you can see the house we bought for Matt without him knowing! I think he was shocked. Teach him to go out and not return our calls! You two will make great parents. You do realize you are having a real baby, with arms, legs, mouth, nose and it won't look like a fruit? HA HA

You're such a pregnant hottie... I think this means your kid will also be a hottie. Yes. :)) Seriously, you look adorable! Prepare your baby for my camera. ;)

I love the hulk-esque picture. My sister's kids call my mom and dad Nana and Papa. It's cute. Only 3/4 weeks to go!!!!!

I love you, Karl, and the baby so much. I've been thinking about you guys everyday. You both will be the great parents. Your lives are about to change for the better and I can't even explain the kind of love a parent has for their child until you have one only then can you truly understand. Labor is only the step that takes you there. So don't worry. To see their first breath and hear their first cry trust me its a small price to pay. Seeing those pictures just reminded me how close you are. You look great!!!
Love,
Bridget Patricia Kathleen

I love the pics. LOVE.

I have a Granny and Granddad(dy) and my other grandmother went by "Grandma La-La"--yes really. Her name was Mamie so I have NO idea where it came from, but it sure was fun to say.

A friend of mine's dad chose to go by "Coach." Or there's Mimi and Big Daddy. And the cutest of all is my friend's grandmother that we all call "Precious." When the oldest grandchild(daughter) was just talking she'd mimic words back, and the g-ma called the girl precious, and then she said it back and it stuck. even I call the lady Precious. :)

That's the right of the first grandchild! Your little one gets to name your Mom and Dad. I think that's how it should happen.

Your belly MIGHT POP.

my parents were nana and papa, but over time the kids have started to call them nan and pops. aven yells "NNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAN" over and over when he wants out of his crib. when she goes in to get him out, his diaper is usually off and thrown across the room, along with anything else within reach. i think it is FUNNY.

Ok, I'm at my grandma's on her computer. It has a wide screen. I was looking at my blog and had the realization that depending on what kind of screen people have, people look waaaay bigger than in reality and on my comp., therefore, I should not post pics of me in a swimsuit anymore. Then, I looked at your site, and seriously, this is the first time you actually look "big" and I blame it on the screen.

you look cute! i will admit, you are looking RATHER "great with child"... so i guess that means we're getting close to D-Day, huh? I called my maternal grandparents grammy and grandpa and my adopted fraternal nanny and papa. i tend to like more "formal" sounding titles, though...like, I don't ever want my kids to call me "mom." I only ever call my own mother "mummy" or "mama." is that weird? i think it might be weird. but anyway, it works. ;)

a funny for you: matt walked the computer while i was reading your blog and said, "wow, she still has fruits that match the kid's size?"
