blow to the dryer

Contrary to what you might think from that top photograph, I paid to have Nate's hair cut professionally. He freaked out when the, uh, child stylist took a blow dryer to his locks (which they have never done before). The, uh, professional asked him, "Doesn't your mommy blow dry your hair?" in snooty hairdresser language. (hairdressese?)

UM, NO LADY.

I do not blow dry and style my 20 month old's hair. When I explained that I never had to her, she shook her head sadly and in disbelief. DISBELIEF I tell you.

Am I missing out on some must-do baby blow drying technique!? (Ha.)

Because, if so, I refuse.

FLAT OUT.

Disclaimer: I realize not all stylists speak snooty hairdressese.

Also, if you want to blow dry your toddler's hair get on with it. No judging.

hahahah.. yeah, I'd vote against the blow drying. I mean.. uh.. why would you? For real. He's not even 2. He doesn't need to be coiffed like that. just.sayin.

Oh shit, I had no idea. I'll bow dry Maddox's hair pronto.

In all seriousness I think that's real weird. They're babies people, BABIES!

WHY?!?!?!?! Cause he's in a hurry to get to work and his hair is wet? Because the straightener won't work on wet hair? Because it sets the mousse he can't leave the house without? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

i do not blow dry Nash's hair either. don't know anyone who does with kids this age. however, i'm not gonna lie. I have started putting gel in his hair at times becuase well you've seen how crazy his long wavy hair can get if it is not somewhat controled. I do mainly water but have been known to put gel in it at times too. wonder if this person has a kid?

Just tell her you're one of those 'all natural' people. It seems like the organics can get away with anything and its fine.
Um, I don't blow dry my dogs hair. Mostly because he hates and and runs away. (I don't have kids, this is the only way I can relate)

lol...that's funny! I did not dry jacob's at that age and now I don't have to. He is 13 and probably never used a hair dryer...

Dude, my kid has pageant queen hair and I don't blow dry it. Your stylist needs to be sodomized with a hot curling iron.

Well, we always blow-dryed our hair after baths in the wintertime, sisters and brothers too... but not for the style aspect. Just because heads of cold wet hair make for kids prone to sniffles. During the summer we just let our hair air-dry, but during the winter when it was chilly, we always got the roots good and dry with the blow-dryer. ;-)

Confession #1: I have been blow-drying Ella's hair all winter. She has such long, thick hair and we bathe her right before bed. So I don't want her to go to bed (and wake up) with a damp head. It's a health thing, not a style thing.

Confession #2: I saw a little girl with gorgeous hair a few weeks ago and said, "Your curly hair is so beautiful!" She looked at me like I was an idiot and said, "My mom curls it." Curling my daughter's hair had never occurred to me. (In my defense, I don't even own a curling iron.) But you bet your sweet ass I've been curling her hair with my Chi every day since. :)

Please believe the only time Setler has had a hair dryer near his head is when I am drying MY hair and he runs in and starts demanding something. So, I blow him in the face. I'm not mean; he thinks it's hilarious. He giggles and runs off then comes back for more.
Most days his hair doesn't even get combed. I think messy is cute!

P.S. HE's A BOY! B-O-Y! I hope my son NEVER uses a hairdryer. Not into metro...
